Congresswoman Maria Angela S. Garcia of Bataan’s 3rd Congressional District in her brief remark during the mass oath taking of newly-elected barangay officials reminded them of their basic responsibilities to achieve progress.
Cong. Gila said the new barangay chairs should think of three important things in doing their jobs: faith in Almighty God, public office is public trust, and good governance. “As barangay officials, it is important that in doing your daily routine God should also be your guidance,” she said. She reminded them that since public office is a public trust, barangay chairs should handle cases the way their constituents expected of them. By good governance, the congresswoman explained that in the context of performance, barangay officials should possess a sense of integrity and competence.
For his part, Bataan Gov. Jose Enrique Garcia III presented various programs of the provincial government in the barangay level. To the surprise of newly-elected and re-elected barangay chairs, the governor demonstrated how to prepare resolutions and ordinances with ease by applying the ChatGPT app. The ChatGPT through the AI (Artificial Intelligence) had been around for some time now but only few individuals are getting aware of the tool used in a particular type of communication. The governor was trying to suggest that barangay officials may use the app in preparing their barangay resolutions.
