The Department of Agriculture had already completed the validation of farm-to-market road sites in upper villages of Balanga City in coordination with the City Agriculture Office and the fisheries council. The validation team was also joined by the Provincial Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering Group of Bataan.
The validation of FMR sites is a requirement to determine the feasibility of the project and the funding and the schedule of implementation. The DA has already validated FMR sites in Upper Dangcol, Barangay Cabog-cabog, Cataning, Tuyo, Cupang Proper, and Tanato. Farm machineries were distributed to farmers during the validation. Nerissa Mateo, chief of Balanga City Agriculture Office, said some 1,212 registered farmers will benefit from the FMRs of which the DA allotted P203 million.
