The Department of Human Settlement and Urban Development (DHSUD) and Bataan local government units (LGUs) are poised to enter into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the construction of housing units.
The move is in line with DHSUD Sec. Jose Rizalino “Jerry” Acuzar’s mass housing project dubbed “Pambansang Pabahay Para Sa Pilipino Program” (4PH). He said President Bongbong Marcos wants the DHSUD to build 6 million housing until the end of his term.
DHSUD Undersecretary Wilfredo. Mallari who was tasked to oversee the ambitious project in the countryside, earlier said the role of private contractors is pivotal for the success of the project for the country’s millions of homeless population and informal settler families (ISFs).
In Bataan, Christopher Leonzon, who heads the Bataan Human Settlement Office serves as focal person on the MOUs with different municipalities. As stipulated in the MOU, a municipality in support of the DHSUD commits to identify and allocate to DHSUD a parcel or parcels of land for the development of the housing project which shall benefit the informal settler families– both for residential and commercial purposes. The LGUs shall pool their technical, financial and manpower resources for the development of the project. The DHSUD shall facilitate, either directly or through its key shelter agencies (KSAs).The post DHSUD, Bataan ink MOU to undertake housing projects appeared first on 1Bataan.
