Dinalupihan declares August as ‘Youth Month’

The month of August shall be become special month for the youth of Dinalupihan town. Board Member Precious Manuel, committee chair of youth and sports at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Bataan, in her committee report at the regular session on Monday said that an ordinance was passed by the Municipal Government of Dinalupihan declaring the month of August as the “Municipal Youth Month” and August 12 as “Municipal Youth Day” in Dinalupihan, Bataan.

The ordinance, however, underwent close scrutiny by her colleagues at the SP citing invalid portion in the said municipal ordinance. Ms. Manuel said the 1987 Philippine Constitution provides that the state recognizes the vital role of the youth in nation building and shall promote and protect the physical, moral, spiritual, intellectual and social well-being. The Sangguniang Kabataan Reform Act of 2015 likewise mandates that every barangay, municipality, city, and province shall conduct an activity to be known as “Linggo ng Kabataan” on the week where the 12th of Auugust falls to coincide with the “International Youth Day.”
