The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the Department of Education (DepEd) Bataan Schools Division Office are collaborating to establish the Innovations for Community Empowerment thru Science and Technology (CEST) Education Entry Point (iCEP) Hub in Abucay, Bataan. This initiative aims to enhance science and technology education in the province.
Funded by DOST’s CEST program, the hub will serve as a training center for educators and students from various schools. It will provide access to advanced learning tools and resources to improve their technical skills.
DOST Provincial Science and Technology Director Catalina De Leon-Cruz stated that the center will offer training in modern technologies such as robotics and 3D printing. To support this, DOST has provided funding assistance for the acquisition of robotic kits and 3D printing equipment.
Personnel managing the hub will undergo comprehensive training to ensure efficient operations and proper support for students and teachers. This effort aims to maximize the benefits of the new technologies in education.
Through this initiative, the hub seeks to foster innovation, enhance digital literacy, and equip Bataan’s youth with essential skills for the digital age. It is expected to contribute to a more inclusive and progressive education system in the province.
