DTI: Economy is picking up

The local economy is now picking up as shown by a considerably big number of business owners applying for registration with the Department of Trade and Industry as compared to previous years.

Teresita Estiebar Magtanong, information officer of DTI, said as of late about 5,000 business owners had applied for business names in different “Negosyo Centers” throughout the province of Bataan thus improving the economy previously slumped by the pandemic. Most business owners preferred to go on food catering, restaurants and even small time eatery in villages.

The DTI proudly reported in last Tuesday’s “Kapihan sa DTI” that the agency has been gaining ground in its programs such as Trade Centers which earned P1.4 million in sales; Bataan Trade Fair, P11,000; various trade fairs, P2.7 million; and Diskuwento Caravan, P1.014 million.

Some 37 business establishments in Bataan were issued “safety seals” by the DTI.
