Empowering Central Luzon

Empowering Central Luzon

The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) has distributed approximately 366 hectares of land to agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in Central Luzon as of May this year. This significant land distribution is part of the agency’s ongoing commitment to support and empower farmers in the region through various programs.

DAR Regional Director James Arsenio Ponce emphasized this during the fifth episode of the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas, organized by the Philippine Information Agency. In addition to land distribution, DAR has made notable progress in its Land Tenure Security Program. The agency has processed claim folders for over 446 hectares and completed land surveys for nearly 47 hectares. This effort ensures that more farmers can secure legal ownership of their lands. DAR has also registered a gross area of 293 hectares under the Emancipation Patents/Certificate of Land Ownership Award, further solidifying land ownership for many beneficiaries.

A major achievement highlighted by DAR is the successful installation of 412 ARBs on their allocated lands. This milestone enables beneficiaries to utilize their lands productively, contributing to their economic stability and agricultural productivity.

Moreover, DAR has resolved 460 legal disputes through its Agrarian Justice Delivery Program, showcasing its dedication to providing timely and fair resolutions to agrarian-related conflicts. The Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Development Sustainability Program has made significant strides in empowering ARBs. The program has trained over 17,000 beneficiaries, equipping them with essential skills and knowledge to improve their agricultural practices and livelihoods. Additionally, more than 11,800 ARBs have gained access to credit, providing the necessary financial support to enhance their farming operations. DAR’s support extends to 95 ARB organizations, strengthening their capacities to assist members and promote sustainable agricultural development.

Through its comprehensive programs, DAR continues to advance land tenure security, deliver agrarian justice, and empower ARBs, contributing to the overall growth and development of Central Luzon’s agricultural sector.
