The Provincial Government of Bataan (PGB) celebrated Women’s Month on March 7 with a series of impactful activities under the sub theme “Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas”.

The event, spearheaded by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), aimed to highlight the invaluable contributions of women and further promote their empowerment in various aspects of life.

The day’s festivities began with a foot parade participated by PGB employees. The parade, which started from Balanga City Plaza, culminated at the Bataan People’s Center (BPC), where several activities and services were offered to support and empower the women of Bataan, including orientation about the programs of various agencies like DOLE, SSS, Pag-IBIG, PhilHealth, and EduChild. These sessions provided crucial information about programs and benefits available to women, focusing on their rights and well-being.

In addition to the informative sessions, free services aimed at promoting self-care and health, such as massage, eye check-up, manicure, pedicure, and haircut . Attendees were also able to visit an exhibit featuring locally-made products, including those crafted by solo parents, showcasing their talent and entrepreneurial spirit.

Part of the celebration was a Job Fair organized by the Public Employment Services Office (PESO) Bataan, that gave women job seekers the opportunity to connect with potential employers and explore new career opportunities.

Meanwhile, the Provincial Population Office (PPO) conducted a Gender and Development Forum for PGB employees, focusing on gender equality and fostering a more inclusive and supportive workplace.

Through these various activities, the Women’s Month celebration in Bataan not only honored the achievements of women but also empowered them with knowledge, opportunities, and support to continue excelling in their personal and professional lives. The event underscored the province’s commitment to advancing gender equality and ensuring that women are provided ample resources to thrive.
