As the nation gears up to celebrate Linggo ng Kabataan, an annual observance dedicated to honoring the vitality and potentials of the youth, this year’s theme, “Green Skills for Youth: Towards a Sustainable World,” takes a decisive step towards environmental sustainability.
Yesterday, the Bataan Youth Development Office, different offices, agencies, and youth organizations came together to support Linggo ng Kabataan’s focus on green skills, be enlightened on the background of the advocacy, and pledge commitment to become active agents of change within their communities.
Hon. Precious Manuel, Sangguniang Kabataan Provincial Federated President, encouraged the kaBataans to take up the challenge and the opportunity to inspire their fellow youth towards the realization of a greener and more resilient future.
Vice Governor Cris Garcia also graced said event, expressing her and the Sangguniang Panlalawigan’s continuous support towards the development of green skills, technology, and living.
The celebration will feature a myriad of activities aimed at raising awareness about environmental challenges and inspiring young individuals to take action, such as a Youth and Trade Fair from August 14 to 17, 1KaBataan Officials Training on August 16, International Youth Day Summit on August 22, and KaBataan Amazing Race and Linggo ng KaBataan Awarding Ceremony on August 31.
Recently elected officials of the 1KaBataan Partylist were also present for an oathtaking ceremony to solidify their roles and responsibilities. The BYDO also launched the Online KaBataan Hub, an online platform where the youth can easily view the programs, services, announcements, and resources from the Provincial Government of Bataan offices and national government agencies dedicated to promote youth growth and development.
