Gov. Joet Garcia said the provincial government is studying to give electric bill subsidy to the poorest of the poor electric consumers in the province.
The governor said it was implemented in nearby Zambales.
Garcia said in his meeting with Penelco, the latter cited the high cost of coal used by power producers to generate electricity for their high power rate. Penelco has contract with power producers.
The governor said he will meet Penelco and power producers to tackle the issue. Bataan electric consumers have been lambasting Penelco especially through social media for high power rate and frequent unannounced power interruptions.
