Newly-promoted Police Maj. General Benjamin H. Silo, Jr. cited Orion Mayor Antonio Raymundo, Jr. for having played an important role in the life of the former police chief of the said municipality.
Silo heaped praises on the President of League of Municipalities of the Philippines (Bataan Chapter) during the victory party held at a restobar in Pilar on November 25. “He is the person I’ve known for so long in Bataan. Lahat ng payo niya para sa aking carrer ay sinunod ko at naniwala ako sa mga sinabi niya,” said the unassuming general.
The event was attended by Silo’s relatives, friends from the Masonry, former police directors, former police officers and acquaintances including those from Davao City, and friends from the local media. Video clips sending congratulatory messages from police officers and non-uniformed personnel were shown.
Silo now holds the position of Director, Civil Security Group. Prior to this he was the PNP Regional Director of Region 11 based in Davao City. While in Bataan, Silo was the police chief of several towns like Orion, Abucay, Dinalupihan and Mariveles. After sometime, Silo came back to Bataan to become its police director. A police officer said Gen. Silo’s quick ascend to success would not have been possible were it not for talent, dedication and sheer hardwork. “At isa pa, magaling si Sir makisama sa mga tao,” said the officer.
