Gov. Joet pushes healthy lunch program

Since good nutrition is a cornerstone of overall health condition, Bataan Gov. Joet Garcia thought it wise to explore the possibility of achieving partnership with the Japanese Government in the implementation of a nutrition program for the province’s school children.

The Governor, together with Bataan 3rd District Representative Gila Garcia last July 14 talked with His Excellency Endo Kazuya to discuss the provincial government’s healthy lunch program set to be launched in September.

Gov. Garcia also discussed with the Japanese Ambassador issues on farming, coastal road project and renewable energy as initiatives “for future opportunities for collaboration.”

“Let us aim to learn from the Japanese experience and apply their best examples especially when it comes to valuing youth nutrition,” the provincial executive said in statement.

Japan is exceptionally clean due to a combination of cultural norms, educational practices and effective waste management system.
