Gov. Joet Garcia announced last Wednesday, July 2 that more infrastructure projects are upcoming in Hermosa town. The governor vowed to bring more economic progress not only in Hermosa but in other neighboring towns as well, following the completion and improvement of 5.72-kilometer farm-to-market road ìn Sitio Nazareno, Culis, Hermosa.
He thanked barangay residents and local officials for the support and appreciation of the project which immensely contributes to ease the transport of farm produce to the market. He emphasized that the said project was well-studied first by government agencies before it was implemented.
The farm-to-market road (FMR) project underwent tight scrutiny by the Department of Agriculture which confirmed that the 1,500 hectares of land was classified as agricultural area. “Ito ay talagang pinag-aralan naming mabuti katulong ang DA para matuloy ang proyekto na pinondohan ng mahigit P90 milyon,” Gov. Garcia said during the inauguration ceremony.
Sitio Nazareno, a mountainous sub-village of Barangay Culis, is known for producing fruits which are sold by residents to public market. The neighboring Barangay Bamban which produces rice, mango and sweet potato will also benefit from the FMR project.
