The Municipal Government of Hermosa, led by Mayor Jopet Inton, joined the nation in celebrating the 123rd Philippine Civil Service Anniversary and honoring the outstanding public servants and athletes of the town.
The celebration was held on September 4, 2023 at the municipal hall, where Mayor Inton and the Sangguniang Bayan members presided over the flag ceremony and delivered their messages of appreciation and encouragement to the civil service commission (CSC) and the local government employees.
The CSC chairperson, Atty. Karlo A.B Nograles, also sent his greetings and message through a recorded video presentation, where he commended the efforts and achievements of the Hermosa Local Government Unit in delivering quality public service to its constituents. Mayor Inton also awarded certificates of recognition to the exemplary civil servants of Hermosa, who have shown dedication, integrity, and excellence in their respective fields of work. He also recognized the young athletes who brought pride and glory to the town by winning medals in the recent Central Luzon Regional Athletic Association (CLRAA) meet. The CLRAA is an annual sports competition among elementary and secondary students from different schools in Central Luzon. Hermosa’s athletes competed in various events such as basketball, volleyball, badminton, chess, swimming, track and field, and taekwondo. Mayor Inton expressed his gratitude and admiration to the civil servants and athletes of Hermosa, saying that they are the true heroes and role models of the town. He also urged them to continue their passion and commitment in serving the people and the country.
The Philippine Civil Service Anniversary is celebrated every September to commemorate the enactment of Public Law No. 5 on September 19, 1900 by the Second Philippine Commission. The law established the Philippine Civil Service under the American colonial government. The theme for this year’s celebration is “Transforming Public Service in the Next Decade: Honing Agile and Future-Ready Servant-Heroes.”
