The town of Hermosa continues to showcase its dedication to public health and community service as the Hermosa Rural Health Unit (RHU) was recognized as the Top Performer at the 2024 Konsulta Summit held by PhilHealth Regional Office 3.

The ceremony, that took place on November 5, 2024, honored the Hermosa RHU for its outstanding contribution in delivering the Konsulta Package Services to the residents of their community. The Konsulta Package, part of the Universal Health Care Law, aims to provide every town with free health services, including consultations, health risk screenings, and laboratory and diagnostic tests.

For the people of Hermosa, the RHU has become a vital partner in making these services accessible, especially for families who cannot afford the cost of medical care. Dr. Warren Valencia, Municipal Health Officer of Hermosa, led the team in accepting the award, accompanied by Dr. Genesis Panganiban, Rural Health Physician, and Nurse Marianne de Pano Mañago, the Nurse Coordinator for Universal Health Care. Joining them were Dr. Rosanna Buccahan, the Provincial Health Officer of Bataan, and Mayor Tonypep Raymundo, who expressed his full support for the Hermosa RHU’s mission of providing high-quality, affordable healthcare for all residents.

“This award is not only for the Hermosa RHU but for the entire town of Hermosa. It proves that when everyone cares about the health of one another, everyone benefits,” said Dr. Valencia. “All our successes are the result of cooperation across sectors—from local government to our medical frontliners, and even the community members who are helping to uplift each other’s health.” Bataan League of Municipalities President and Orion Mayor Tonypep Raymundo also delivered a message, promising the continued support of the LGU for the RHU’s initiatives. “We will not let our citizens down. This achievement is just the beginning of many more health and wellness programs for all Hermoseños,” Mayor Raymundo said.

Being named the Top Performer at the Konsulta Summit is just one of Hermosa RHU’s many steps toward making healthcare accessible to every resident. Through their commitment and hard work, they continue to show that the health of every Hermoseño is the town’s most valuable asset.
