Iskolar ng Bataan (INB) held the pilot implementation of its “Iskowela” Program aimed at improving the reading skills of young students.
INB Coordinator Ramon Canas said INB beneficiaries tutored schoolchildren at Cupang Integrated School in Balanga City to read during weekends for one month.
Those who participated in the program are INB beneficiaries who are college students and reside near the said school.
Officials of Cupang Integrated School thanked INB adviser Vice Gov. Cris Garcia, for the laudable program.
“Iskowela” complements the 3Bs Initiative (Bawat Bata Bumabasa) of the school.
Moreover, with guidance from the vice governor, INB beneficiaries now plays an important role in government and community activities, for they will also conduct clean and green and health activities among others.
As the acting governor two weeks ago, Vice Gov. Cris Garcia conducted the weekly “Kwentuhan Kasama Si Gov” with the officers of the Federated Associations of the Scholars of Bataan, where re-orientation on INB guidelines and validation process, among others, were tackled.
In all activities of the Iskolar ng Bataan, Vice Gov. Cris Garcia is always there inspiring the beneficiaries on the value of education and urging them to take the opportunity to finish their studies through the program.
