Institutionalizing volunteerism in Bataan

Institutionalizing volunteerism in Bataan

“Ang gusto natin ay institutionalized volunteerism as a development strategy sa local government unit, magkaroon ng volunteer code, learning hub, and programs,” said Meynard Bryan Reyes, Bataan Youth Development Officer, during the launch of KaBataan Volunteer Corps (KVC) on May 5 at The Bunker.

Aimed at creating a pool of volunteers to assist, BYDO seeks to engage youth volunteers in the government to improve citizen participation in delivering government services.

“Sa ganitong paraan, mas makikita nila ang proseso, mas maiintindihan, mas malalaman kung ano ang kaakibat ng mga programa na mae-enjoy nila, para mas maging bukas ang kanilang isipan,” he added.

Sangguniang Kabataan Provincial Youth Federation Board Member, Precious Manuel, graced the event and emphasized that despite the fact that she will be leaving her position soon, she still encourages everyone to be engaged in the objective of KVC.
