Balanga City Mayor Francis Anthony S. Garcia will complete his term next year leaving the city government with P1 billion in coffers. The mayor said Balanga is now a second class city after realizing P1 billion income in the last three consecutive years.
Bulk of Balanga City’s income are derived from business permits and licenses, and real property taxes. Joselito Evangelista, city treasurer, said there was a remarkable increase in tax collection in the city because those who failed to settle their obligations in the past years due to the pandemic are now complying.
The city internal revenue allotment now amounts to P717 million. Mayor Francis said Balanga is among the topnotchers in Central Luzon when it comes to performance in education. This feat is achieved following the city government’s program of providing computers, laptops, and smart TVs to different public schools in the city. “In fact, we are providing 350 additional smart tvs to different schools in Balanga,” the mayor said.
