Sportsmanship is defined as having good camaraderie, true friendship and genuine appreciation of friendly jokes that enhance fruitful relationship in any sport activity. This was more or less how Hermosa, Bataan town Mayor Jopet Inton èmphasized the meaning of sportsmanship when he guested at the “Jon’s Cup Basketball Tournament” held last week at the Orani covered court.
The mayor asked one of the players how important sportsmanship is for team players and the latter said “sportsmanship should play a key role in any sporting event.” Inton, however, to further give meaning to “sportsmanship” he called out the basketball team muses one after the other to briefly banter with them. Mayor Inton then asked them, “Sports ba kayo,” to which the beauties smiled as if to say “yes.” He then approached the muse and planted a fatherly kiss on the girl’s forehead and handed her a cash prize worth P1k. He repeated the same gesture to other muses. The “afternoon delight” was witnessed by guest speaker Board Member Tonyboy Roman, Jon Arizapa, Congressman Jett Nisay, Dr. Godofredo Galicia, provincial health council consultant, and some municipal councilors.
