Mayor German Santos of Dinalupihan would not lament that much spending millions of pesos if that would mean prolonging the life of 24,000 senior citizens of the said municipality.
The neophyte town executive admitted during last week’s general assembly of senior citizens at the Dinalupihan Civic Center that “the smiles on the faces of senior citizens are priceless.” “Wala pong katumbas na halaga ang ngiti sa inyong mga labi,” the mayor told the seniors gathered for the Christmas giveaways.
Mayor Santos said the municipal government of Dinalupihan is after the health concern of the aging population that’s why Congresswoman Gila Garcia of Bataan’s 3rd District put up six rural health units (RHUs) in strategic barangays of the municipality. “Tayo po sa Dinalupihan ang may pinakamaraming RHUs– anim po yan at siyam na doktor na magbabahay-bahay kung kinakailangan sa pamamagitan ng mobile clinic,” explained the mayor. He pointed out that all medical services to be provided by RHUs are free of charge. “Lahat po, pati gamot libre,” he said. The RHUs are like a mini-hospital complete with laboratory, birthing and X-ray facilities
