The Sangguniang Panlalawigan ng Bataan presided by Vice Gov Cris Garcia recently approved in their regular session, a resolution authorizing the Provincial Government of Bataan (PGB) represented by Governor Joet Garcia to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with certain private hospitals.
The august body believes that said MOA that aims to streamline the procedure in the issuance of charge slips to eligible patients, cover partially their costs of hospitalization and facilitate the patients’ discharge will be greatly beneficial to Bataeños.
It will be remembered that at the height of the pandemic, PGB with then Gov. Abet Garcia has partnered with private hospitals, which became a good practice that contributed good service delivery and access to private hospitals and medical care for our indigent patients.
The following private hospitals namely, Bataan Doctors and Medical Center; Bataan St. Joseph Hospital and Medical Center, Inc.; Balanga Medical Center Corporation; Centro Medico de Santisimo del Rosario; Orion St. Michael Hospital and Isaac and Catalina Medical Center have already expressed their willingness to continue the partnership with the PGB.
The MOA also provides that the PGB thru the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) will implement the medical assistance program to eligible patients providing financial support for medical and hospital care. While the private hospitals possessing sufficient capability, medical facilities and professionals will render quality services to the patients.
