More PRDP grants for Bataan

Bataan Vice Gov. Cris Garcia urged municipalities in the province to study the meticulous preparation of the documentation requirement of the Philippine Rural Development Program (PRDP) to get more project grants.

“We can get more grants from PRDP as long as we know how to accomplish their meticulous documentation requirement”, she said during the groundbreaking of Orani Fish Landing and Trading Post on Thursday.

The project worth P180 million is funded through PRDP of the Department of Agriculture (DA).

The vice governor noted that other provinces are able to get bigger grants from PRDP citing Isabela province that was reportedly granted P1 billion worth of project.

Garcia also said they passed a resolution at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan thanking President Bongbong Marcos for two PRDP projects in the province.

The other project is the road construction in Hermosa. Provincial Planning Development Officer Butch Baluyot echoed the statement of the vice governor saying municipal planning development offices must learn the preparation of PRDP documentation requirement and that the Provincial Planning and Development Office will be in support.

Explaining how the program works, he said that the national government gets loan from World Bank and then grant the money for project funding to benefitting LGUs though PRDP.
