NGCP urges public not to plant trees under transmission lines

The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has warned the public against the planting of trees or conducting activities under its transmission line towers.

“Planting trees or conducting any activities under transmission lines are detrimental to the company’s operations, as well as to public safety”, stated NGCP. “Our lines carry very high voltage power.

Safety clearance violations are detrimental not just to NGCP’s operations but also to public safety”, said the power transmission company. NGCP warned three things can happen — electrocution, accidents, and line trippings. The company asked the public to report to them the dangerous activities to be able to conduct clearing operations.
