In a significant celebration of this year’s Labor Day, the Bataan Public Employment Service Office (PESO), in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), held a job fair at the Bataan People’s Center on May 2, with over 8,000 local and overseas job vacancies up for grabs for Bataeños.
The diverse range of employment opportunities came from 33 local and 3 overseas employers; ensuring that the job fair is inclusive and accessible to individuals of various backgrounds, skill sets, and experience levels.
Aside from the job fair, the celebration showcased even more opportunities and assistance through the following DOLE programs:
Awarding of Certificate of Eligibility to DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) beneficiaries with an amount of Php 2.2M
Awarding of Certificate of Eligibility to the Provincial Government of Bataan and 2nd District Congressional Office (2DCO) for the implementation of GIP amounting to Php 20.3M
Distribution of Tulong Panghanapbuhay Sa Ating Disadvantaged/ Displaced Workers (TUPAD) payout amounting to Php 9.1M
Distribution of Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) payout amounting to Php 14.9M
Distribution of Government Internship Program (GIP) payout amounting to Php 1.9M
Awarding of checks to OWWA beneficiaries
Simultaneously, farmers and vendors were able to sell their produce and products on the venue through the Kadiwa ng Pangulo program, where they reached Php 27,542.00 of gross sales.
PSA, DTI, OWWA, DMW, SSS, TESDA, PhilHealth, and BIR also offered their services during the event.
Also present in the event were Vice Governor Cris Garcia, DOLE Region 3 Director Geraldine Panlilio, DOLE Bataan Provincial Director Leilani Reynoso, Board Member Benjie Serrano, Bataan PESO Manager Maria Eva Basalo, and municipal PESO managers from all over the province.
