More families in Balanga City are continuing to realize their dreams as housing units in 1Bataan Village were handed over this morning to 216 beneficiaries in a ceremony led by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
Before the turnover, the president personally inspected the units, each with a floor size of 27sqm each, with 2 bedrooms, a kitchen, toilet, bath, and ample water and power supply.
In his message, Governor Jose Enrique “Joet” Garcia expressed his gratitude to the President and the national government, especially to Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Secretary Jerry Acuzar and National Housing Authority General Manager Joeben Tai, for helping Filipinos to improve their lives through the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Housing Program and supporting other 1Bataan Village projects across the province.
To augment support for the beneficiaries, 2nd District Representative Albert “Abet” Garcia will be establishing a livelihood center and water system, while the local government unit of Balanga City, under Mayor Francis Garcia, funded other basic facilities, including a 4-storey school building with 20 classrooms, a multipurpose building, and a covered basketball court. Inside the housing project, a Community Center Building houses a Health Center, Daycare Center, Barangay Learning Hub, office of the Homeowners’ Association (HOA), and an LGU housing satellite office.
The first phase of the project consists of six condominium-type buildings located in Brgy. Tenejero. Beneficiaries who received their Certificate of Award used to dwell near the Talisay River, an identified danger area in the city.
The program concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between DHSUD and Balanga City LGU.
Among the other guests present at the ceremony were Cong. Geraldine Roman, Cong. Maria Angela Garcia, Vice Governor Ma. Cristina Garcia, Balanga City Vice Mayor Vianca Gozon, members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan ng Bataan and Sangguniang Panlunsod ng Balanga, and other officials.
