Nine hundred members of Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Bataan Station will donate blood every quarter of a year to Bataan General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) for its patients.
This is contained in a memorandum of agreement signed here on Tuesday between PCG National Capital Region-Central Luzon represented by CG Hostillo Arturo E. Cornelio and BGHMC represented by Hospital Chief Dr. Glory V. Baltazar. BGHMC, in return, will provide medical aids and treatment to PCG Bataan personnel for free for as long they are active PhilHealth members.
“We are happy to be a partner of BGHMC, to help patients.
We are proud of our personnel who are willing to volunteer to donate blood for the sick”, Cornelio said during the signing of the agreement ceremony held in Balanga City on Tuesday.
For her part, Baltazar said, “We are very grateful to PCG for this partnership, our hospital needs a steady supply of blood for our patients and in return we are more than willing to provide medical and hospital needs to PCG Bataan members”.
“We thank PCG Bataan Station Commander Jonathan Serote for reaching out to us to come up with this agreement|”, she added.
Blood shortage is often a problem in government hospitals.
