Petron Corporation recently announced the addition of 10 new scholars to its Petron Bataan Refinery-Bataan Peninsula State University (PBR-BPSU) scholarship program. The new scholars, all 3rd-year BS Mechanical and Electrical Engineering students, form the 13th batch of beneficiaries under the Petron Engineering Scholarship initiative.
Launched in 2008, the program aims to support aspiring engineers from Bataan Peninsula State University. To date, it has produced over 300 graduates, many of whom have secured employment at the Petron Bataan Refinery (PBR), the largest and most advanced oil refinery in the Philippines. The refinery, located in Limay, Bataan, has a capacity of 180,000 barrels per day and supplies nearly 40% of the country’s fuel needs.
