In response to the impact of Typhoon Egay, the Provincial Government of Bataan (PGB) provided the necessary aid and medical support to its citizens in various towns and lone city to ensure their the well-being especially those affected by flood.
The Provincial Health Office (PHO) has been distributing preposition medications including antibiotic ointments, oral medications, paracetamol, vitamins, and anti-leptospirosis medicines to prevent and manage common illnesses that may arise. In addition, PHO staff conducted comprehensive health orientations to educate evacuees on various health-related topics. Among key areas discussed were prevention of dengue fever, guidelines on proper nutrition, mental health awareness and importance of drinking clean water to avoid waterborne diseases like diarrhea.
Meanwhile, the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) has been actively distributing relief goods to affected individuals across all 49 evacuation centers in the province. The relief packages included 527 food packs, 475 hygiene kits, and 55 mats, while financial assistance was provided to support the rehabilitation and immediate needs of the evacuees.
Various government offices and agencies, including the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), Metro Bataan Development Authority, Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, Provincial Engineer’s Office, Department of Public Works and Highways, Bataan Provincial Police Office, Philippine Army, Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine Coast Guard, Philippine Red Cross, Municipal/City Disaster and Management Offices, collaborated to provide their services and support to ensure the safety and well-being of all Bataeños.
Based on recent reports of the PDRRMO, a total of 84,538 households, comprising 414,795 individuals, were affected by the typhoon. A well-coordinated evacuation effort resulted in the safe evacuation of 767 families, totaling 2,807 individuals. As of today, there has been no reports of injuries, missing individuals, or casualties.
