The Provincial Government of Bataan (PGB) hosted a General Assembly and Orientation for the 4,118 new beneficiaries of the “Iskolar ng Bataan” program, initiated by the late Gov. Tet Garcia.
Held on January 30 at the Bataan People’s Center, Gov. Joet Garcia, in his message, emphasized the importance of education in this changing world, as well as, the province’s commitment to providing opportunities for its youth.
While Cong. Gila Garcia of the 3rd district of the province said that she’s proud to support the education of the young people and reiterated Gov. Joet’s commitment in helping these students to achieve their dreams. The Iskolar ng Bataan (InB) program, a legacy of then Gov. Tet Garcia, provides financial assistance to poor but deserving students.
During the assembly, officials also discussed important social issues affecting the youth such as teenage pregnancy, smoking and vaping.The event marked another milestone in the province’s mission to promote education and empower the youth.
Also present at the event were, Vice Gov. Cris Garcia, Board Member Jomar Gaza, Iskolar ng Bataan head, Ramon Canas and Youth Ambassador of the province, Ms. Katrina Andrade.
