The Tamarind Chapter of the Philippine Association of Agriculturists recently organized a training workshop on “Writing a Project Proposal for Community Participatory Action Research (CPAR) Projects and Process Documentation for Agricultural Extension Workers.”

The event was held on September 5-6, 2024, at the Crown Royale Hotel in Balanga City, that aimed to enhance the skills of participants in project proposal writing and research documentation.

The two-day workshop gathered experts and participants to focus on strategies for effective project proposal development and documentation. On the first day, Amavel Velasco from the Department of Agriculture-Bureau of Agricultural Research provided an overview of the CPAR program, including the grant application process. Dr. Hermogenes M. Paguia, President of the PAA-Tamarind Chapter and professor at Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU), highlighted the key aspects of the CPAR project in Bataan.

On the second day, Engr. Kristine P. Ortega, Director of the University Resilience Center at BPSU, discussed agricultural resilience and offered constructive feedback on the participants’ project proposals.

Participants, consisting of agriculturists and extension workers from various regions, presented their project proposals, demonstrating their practical application of the skills and knowledge acquired during the workshop.
