Pilar forges ahead with pioneering MOA for skills and development

In a significant stride towards community empowerment and workforce development, the Municipality of Pilar, Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU), and various TESDA accredited Skills Training Centers came together for a momentous Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing ceremony last Wednesday, July 3.

The event, held at the Office of the Mayor in the Municipal Hall of Pilar, heralds a new era of opportunities for the people of Pilar. Mayor Carlos “Charlie” F. Pizarro, Jr. set the tone with inspiring opening remarks, highlighting the potential impact of the collaboration. “This partnership signifies a commitment to uplift our community through education and skills development,” he told 1Bataan News.

Following his address, representatives from the partner institutions shared their pledges of support. Prof. Reynan Calderon of BPSU expressed the university’s dedication to fostering educational excellence, while Ms. Aida Estacio of PTC-Orion, Ms. Jonaliza Dar Guttierez of PATS, Ms. Rea Rose Reyes of Aertech Skills Training Institute, Inc., and Ms. Geraldine Santos of Philippine EMS Training Assessment Center (PEMSTAC) each reiterated their institutions’ commitments to delivering quality technical and vocational training.

The agreements aim to offer Pilarians enhanced opportunities through TESDA-approved technical and vocational education, livelihood training programs, and entrepreneurial activities. Students completing the courses will receive Certificates of Completion, verifying their supervised training.

Hon. Marino H. Caguimbal, SB Member and Chairperson of the SB Committee on Labor and Employment, concluded the event with a heartfelt speech. He emphasized the program’s significance for sustaining local workforce development, stating, “This initiative is a cornerstone for our community’s future, ensuring our workforce is skilled, competitive, and ready for the challenges ahead.” With this collaborative effort, Pilar is poised to make significant strides in community development, positioning itself as a model for other municipalities in the region.
