Vice Gov Cris Garcia led the distribution of the education assistance under the Iskolar ng Bataan program to PUP Mariveles students. The distribution was held at the Mariveles Sports Complex, Brgy. Poblacion on Thursday. A total of 1,284 PUP students each received P3,000 as stipend for school year 2021 to 2022.
In her message, Garcia urged students not to let the opportunity to finish schooling slip. “Not all are given the chance to study in college, study hard and achieve your dreams”, the vice governor told students.
Before the hatching of the Iskolar ng Bataan program in 2004, then Bataan second district congressman the late Tet Garcia, was already giving financial assistance to PUP students in the form of tuition fee refund. Vice Governor Garcia is the original coordinator of the Iskolar ng Bataan. She now serves as adviser of the scholarship program.
