PVO conducts horse dispersal

Indigenous farmers in the upland barangays (villages) of Bataan can now avail of horse dispersal being implemented by the Provincial Government of Bataan through the Provincial Veterinary office (PVO).

Dr. Alberto Venturina, provincial veterinarian, said 138 female and 12 male horses are being distributed in six towns of the province, namely: Limay, Orion, Pilar, Abucay, Orani, and Hermosa.

“These horses would be of big help to upland residents in transporting their agricultural products from the farms to market place,” said Venturina who expressed gratitude to Bataan Gov. Albert Garcia (now elected congressman of the province’s Second District.) for the supply of horses.

Venturina said the horses are grown-up already, in fact, there are some who are pregnant and could be very beneficial to the recipients. “Pag nanganak na at puwede na awatin ang anak, ililipat uli sa iba ang inahin,” he explained.

Horses has become and still are the most convenient carrier of agricultural products from the mountain community of upland folks.
