Revenue District Officer Merlyn Vicente has appealed to RDO 20 (BIR Bataan) taxpayers to help the district by paying their taxes. “We are urging taxpayers in RDO 20 to pay their tax obligation”, she appealed in a recent radio interview.
She disclosed that RDO 20 has deficit of more than P100 million as of April this year.
She said based on their analysis the district has low collection in business tax, VAT, and percentage tax.
She said while their collection for the month of May was promising, she still made the appeal given the huge collection deficit for the past months.
Vicente said their regular task is to collect tax every day and that they have assigned tax collection target.
She said their annual collection goal at the BIR is increasing. Vicente urged the taxpaying public to improve their voluntary tax compliance so that there will be no need to write them letters reminding not to be remiss in their tax obligations.
