Resilient barangays, a must

Resilient villages (barangay) in Bataan is a must, according to Sangguniang Panlalawigan member Romano del Rosario, chair of committee on peace and order and public safety at the provincial board.

Del Rosario recently presided over a public hearing on resiliency empowerment of villages provincewide as emphasized by the spokesperson of National Resiliency Council. The board member from Bagac pointed out that there is a need to inform barangay officials of salient points of the resiliency campaign in all villages to keep them “always ready for any event of calamities that beset our barangays.” “Dapat lamang na lagi tayong handa sa anumang kalamidad na dumarating sa atin gaya ng pagbaha, lindol, at bagyo, upang.mapangalagaan ang ating mga kababayan,” Del Rosario explained. His own committee has yet to launch a massive information campaign on resiliency concerns.
