Samal has officially been upgraded to a 2nd Class Municipality, last January 2025 as per Republic Act No. 11964. The people of Samal are proud of the progress of their town under the leadership of Mayor Alex Acuzar.

In just over two years, Samal has moved from 4th Class Municipality to 2nd Class Municipality. “Samal, once just a town people pass by, is now becoming a model for good governance,” said residents. Mayor Acuzar thanked Sangguniang Bayan, department heads, municipal employees, department heads, and investors for the support.

“This success is for every Samaleno. Together we can achieve great things!” the mayor said.
