Senator Bong Go led the inauguration of a Super Rural Health Center in Samal on Wednesday. He also cut the ceremonial ribbon of the Samal Public Market and led the groundbreaking of Samal Multi-Purpose Gym. Go, Senate Committee on Health chairperson, said the center functions as a medium-sized polyclinic, providing consultation and primary care services.
The senator commended Samal Mayor Alex Acuzar for the almost fully equipped Samal Super Rural Health Center that included digital x-ray, ultrasound machine, and ECG machine. The center has birthing facility, dental clinic, TB Dots clinic, pharmacy, spacious waiting area, and automatic system patient queuing system.
Mayor Acuzar said, “Accessible and free health services are now available to Samalenos, thank you Senator Bong Go!” The Samal Sangguniang Bayan headed by Vice Mayor Ronnie Ortiguerra passed a resolution making Go an adopted son of Samal.
The establishment of the Super Rural Health Center in the country is a legislative initiative and a priority program of Senator Go. The senator aims to increase healthcare access, especially in primary care and to bring medical services at the grassroot level.
