The Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) received a donation of Information Technology (IT) equipment from e-Konek Pilipinas, Inc. The donation was formally accepted by SBMA Chairman and Administrator Eduardo Jose L. Aliño, who signed the turnover document at the Seaport Administration Building conference room.
The donation package comprises 20 sets of desktop PCs, three Appli iPads, and three large TV monitors. These resources are intended for various services within SBMA, including the electronic Transit Admission Permit System (eTAPS), Gatepass Management System (GMS), Trade Automation and Facilitation System (TAFS), and Automated Export Documentation System (AEDS). Ronnie Yambao, SBMA Senior Deputy Administrator for Operations, highlighted the significance of the donation in supporting the agency’s initiatives and improving operational efficiency.
Chairman Aliño expressed gratitude for the donation, emphasizing its potential benefits for the shipping sector within the Freeport. Theresita D. Eisma, Chairman and President of e-Konek Pilipinas, Inc., explained that the company specializes in software solutions for the supply chain industry. They develop and implement computer systems for distribution, transport management, warehouse management, freight forwarding, and trade regulatory clearances. Eisma reiterated the company’s commitment to supporting SBMA’s operations, indicating that the donated equipment would be put to good use.
The collaboration between SBMA and e-Konek Pilipinas, Inc. reflects a shared goal of leveraging technology to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in Freeport operations.
