Sen. Cayetano leads opening of Bataan’s first padel court

Senator Pia S. Cayetano took the lead in the ribbon-cutting ceremony and official opening of the newest Padel Court at Green Leaf Residences in Balanga City, Wednesday morning. The event was attended by key figures in Bataan politics and some local sports enthusiasts.

Among the prominent guests were Bataan Governor Jose Enrique “Joet” Garcia, Bataan Second District Congressman Albert “Abet” Garcia, Bataan Third District Congresswoman Maria Angela “Gila” Garcia, Balanga City Mayor Francis Garcia, Provincial Board Member Atty. Tony Roman, former Congressman Ferdinand Hernandez, Padel court sponsor Ramon Garcia, and the owner of Green Leaf Residences and Horam Abi Builders, Renedel Mendoza.

The inauguration coincided with the hosting of the first padel clinic for the year 2024, organized by Padel Pilipinas, Padel In Action Academy, Pinay In Action, and Play Padel.

Padel Coach Bryan Casao took charge of the training session for padel beginners from Bataan. The participants were introduced to the history and fundamental knowledge of padel, followed by hands-on training to familiarize themselves with the game.

Coach Bryan, who holds a professional certification from PadelMBA in Spain, currently heads the Padel in Action Academy. He has been instrumental in conducting Padel clinics across the country, including locations such as Laguna, Marikina, Parañaque, Batangas, Mandaluyong, Muntinlupa, Tarlac, Pampanga, and Baler in 2023.

The Padel clinics aim to promote the sport and provide training opportunities for enthusiasts across various regions. Future clinics are scheduled in different parts of the country, with the province of Aurora being one of the upcoming destinations.

Senator Pia S. Cayetano, in her opening remarks, expressed her enthusiasm for the growing interest in Padel in the Philippines. She emphasized the importance of sports in promoting a healthy lifestyle and encouraged more communities to embrace recreational activities like Padel.

The newly inaugurated Padel Court at Green Leaf Residences is expected to become a hub for Padel enthusiasts in Bataan, contributing to the development and popularization of the sport in the region.
