To raise public awareness on proper emergency response during disasters, SM City Bataan participated in the Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake drill yesterday, Sept.7, 2023.

The actual earthquake drill was participated in by shoppers, tenant employees who applied the “duck, cover and hold” system during the drill that took place at exactly 2pm.
Various scenarios of medical search and rescue procedures were initiated to a mock-up trauma victim while rescue team evacuated shoppers, employees and tenants to an open space.

Members of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management staff with their evaluators composed of, FSupt Roderick Marquez(City Fire Marshall), Rey Gonzales (NGO rep), August Sanchez (CPAOO), Judith Bergantinos (DILG rep) and Kgd Geronimo Benzon of Brgy. Poblacion are one in saying that SM City Bataan has shown readiness which only needs minor improvements, because SM City Bataan conducts refresher course every now and then, to their employees, tenants and affiliates on disasters preparedness such as fire, earthquakes and others, to build contingency plans when disaster strikes.
