SM Foundation, Inc. (SMFI) has launched its “Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan” (KSK) program on sustainable agriculture in the municipalities of Orion and Pilar, aiming to empower local farmers through training and livelihood opportunities.
The program was officially introduced on March 19, 2025, at SM City Bataan Event Center, with 120 farmers from Orion and Samal participating. The initiative seeks to equip them with modern agricultural skills and sustainable farming techniques.
Representatives from various government agencies, including the Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), attended the event. Local officials from Orion and Pilar also showed their support for the program.
Former KSK participants Maricel Jose Santos of Gugo Matatag and Mercy Pacat of Eco Bloom shared their success stories, highlighting how the program helped them build sustainable livelihoods and market their produce at the SM Sunday Market.
SMFI continues to promote sustainable agriculture and community empowerment through the KSK program. More information about their initiatives can be found at www.sm-foundation.org.
