The Sangguniang Panlalawigan ng Bataan (SP) presided by Vice Gov. Cris Garcia unanimously approved a resolution authorizing Gov. Joet Garcia to enter into an agreement with the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center 3 for the establishment of “Swine Artificial Insemination (AI) sa Barangay Project” in Bangkal, Abucay.
The project aims to produce good quality semen to upgrade and increase the swine population in the province. The Provincial Veterinary Office said the project can help boost supply of pork.
In his letter to the SP, the governor said some of the benefits that local swine raisers can get are housing facilities, breeder animals, equipment, and initial inputs.
The Provincial Veterinary Office said the “Swine AI sa Barangay Project” is under the INSPIRE program of the Department of Agriculture which was launched to implement calibrated repopulation and enhancement of local swine industry.
Vice Gov. Garcia and other SP members fully support the vision of Gov. Garcia of a robust agricultural growth in the province.
