New Social Security System (SSS) President and Chief Executive Officer Michael G. Regino ordered the promotion of the ongoing enhanced installment payment program to seven non-compliant employers they visited during the Run After Contribution Evaders (RACE) Campaign on March 28, 2022.
“We are here to offer remedies so that employers can conveniently settle their contribution delinquency through the ongoing Pandemic Relief and Restructuring Program 3 (PRRP 3) or the Enhanced Installment Payment Program which offers flexible payment terms ranging from nine to sixty months depending on the total amount of obligation.” SSS Vice President for Luzon Central 1 Vilma Agapito said.
Employers will be given nine months to settle their delinquency of up to P50,000; 12 months for delinquency of more than P50,000 up to P100,000; 18 months for delinquency of over P100,000 to P500,000; 24 months for delinquency of over P500,000 up to P2 million; 36 months for delinquency of more than P2 million up to P5 million; 48 months for delinquency of over P5 million to P10 million; and 60 months for delinquency of more than P10 million.
The Enhanced Installment Payment Program will run until November 21, 2022.
Applicants may coordinate with their account officer assigned in the SSS having jurisdiction of their account.
“We are expecting to collect P1.27 million worth of contribution delinquency from these erring employers. Failure to comply within the prescribed period will compel SSS to file legal case against them.” SSS Vice President for Luzon Central 1 Division Vilma P. Agapito said.
Agapito also reminded employers to register their businesses with SSS.
Under Republic Act 11199 or the Social Security Act of 2018, coverage in the SSS shall be compulsory to all employees including domestic workers or “kasambahays” not over 60 years of age.
Employers are mandated to register their businesses with the SSS by registering thru the SSS website (www.sss.gov.ph) or through accomplishing the Employer Registration Form (SS Form R-1) and report their employees for SSS coverage using the Employment Report Form (SS Form R-1A) within 30 days from actual employment date.
“We also urge employers who are delinquent in the payment of SSS contributions of their employees covering the month of March 2020 onwards to avail of the ongoing condonation of penalties under Pandemic Relief Restructuring Program 2 (PRRP 2) before it ends on May 14, 2022 to avoid accumulated penalties and provide social security protection to their workers. Should the employers need assistance, they can always approach the SSS branch which has jurisdiction over them.“ Agapito concluded.
