Sumalo, a progressive community in the making

Barangay Sumalo in the Municipality of Hermosa will soon be a fast-developing barangay. Mayor Jopet Inton through the Riverforest Development Corporation (RDC), in-charge of the 213 hectares of the Litton property, envisions a progressive township project in said barangay which will host an industrial zone , commercial facilities and residential areas.

The RDC, together with KABISIGKA (Kababaihan bisig ng Kaunlaran), a powerful women group and Utol ng Sumalo , its male counterpart, inform the residents through a general assembly, that they will have the land where their houses are presently built, while the 17 hectares of the Litton property in the middle of said area will be developed as a progressive residential community with the basic social services accessible in the neighborhood.

RDC Manager, Mr. Dani Beltran said that, with the developments that are about to start in the formerly dormant property, many locators are already interested which will definitely create jobs and other business opportunities. Beltran added that they will see to it, that a balanced approach will be applied to the industrialization of Hermosa while establishing Sumalo as a progressive community.
