Second District Representative Abet Garcia and Vice Governor Cris Garcia welcomed delegates from Linhai Industrial Park, an industrial hub based in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, and discussed investment opportunities in the province last Thursday,  October 12.

The Linhai Industrial Park consists of several heavy industries, such as steel production, petrochemical complex, and fuel production. Mr. Abul Khayr Alonto II and Mr. Benjamin Co of Bataan Public Private Partnership and Investment Center presented the advantages and opportunities for investment in the province, especially with the upcoming big-ticket projects such as the Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge and the Bataan Transshipment Hub. BPSU President Ruby Matibag, VP for Research, Extension, and Training Services Monica Hipolito, and IT-TBM Director Dr. John Ryan Dizon also presented opportunities within the university, with Dr. Dizon suggesting a partnership where students could undergo training within the industrial park.

Mr. Peter Chao Hsien Lai, chairman of the manufacturing association of Linhai Industrial Park, said they wish they had visited the Philippines sooner, and expressed their desire to explore more of Bataan. The visit signifies a mutual interest in exploring sustainability, economic growth and cooperation. Bataan’s strategic location, with its access to various markets, complements Linhai Industrial Park’s objectives.
