Tourists and excursionists arrival in Bataan rose in 2024

Bataan recorded a significant increase in the number of tourists and excursionists in 2024 compared to the previous year showing a continued growth in interest among local and foreign visitors.

According to Provincial Tourism Office data, a total of 1,237,611 tourists and excursionists arrivals was recorded in 2024. This marks a 41.16 percent increase from the 876,759 arrivals registered in 2023. A tourist refers to someone who stays in a place for at least one night, while an excursionist is a visitor who does not stay overnight and only visits for the day.

Among the favorite destinations of excursionists is the Mt. Samat National Shrine in Pilar that recorded 181,272 visitors in 2024. Said shrine a historical landmark built in honor of Filipino and American soldiers who fought in World War II.

The Bataan Tourism Center in Balanga City welcomed 11,161 visitors in the same year. The facility serves as Bataan’s main tourism information hub which features an exhibit of the province’s history, an audio-visual room, and a Pasalubong Center offering local products. Adjacent to it is the Bataan Tourism Park, known for its open green spaces, which attracted 156,605 visitors.

The rise in the number of visitors reflects Bataan’s growing reputation as a destination where people can enjoy history, culture, nature, and local hospitality. The Provincial Government continues to promote Bataan as a place worth exploring for both short visits and longer stays.

The 3rd Congressional District of Bataan, composed of the municipalities of Mariveles, Morong, Bagac, and Dinalupihan, is continuously undergoing tourism development driven by the presence of various heritage sites, natural attractions, and resort facilities in the area.
