In celebration of the Annual Philippine Arbor Day 2024 and Environment Month, the Local Government of Hermosa led a tree-planting event in Barangay Bamban.
This initiative, spearheaded by the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) under the leadership of MENRO Head Jesus De Luna, was held in collaboration with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the Hermosa Water District. The event saw active participation from various private sectors, local government branches, and community members, demonstrating their commitment and dedication to environmental conservation.
By planting trees, the participants not only contributed to the beautification of the surroundings but also played a vital role in combating climate change, preventing floods, and mitigating soil erosion. Trees also provide clean air and enhance community solidarity. Mayor Jopet Inton emphasized the significance of this initiative, stating, “Let us unite in caring for and increasing our tree population. This small step will have a substantial impact in the future. Together, let’s promote the advocacy for nature and the welfare of our town and province here in Bataan.”
The Arbor Day celebration underscored the importance of collective efforts in environmental preservation and sustainability, encouraging the community to continue their support for similar endeavors in the future.
