Typhoon “Crising”, no impact on NGCP facilities

The National Grid Corporation of the Phil. (NGCP) reported that its transmission facilities in the province of Bataan despite the tropical storm ” Crising” are currently operating normally.

Nevertheless, NGCP is closely monitoring the effects of the southwest monsoon (habagat) and is ready to activate its 24/7 operation centers if necessary.

Ms. Beng Carolino, Public Relations Officer of NGCP, said that the current Grid Operation Status in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao remains normal and stable, having all transmission line facilities under normal conditions.

With Habagat’s potential impact, which may cause floodings, landslides in vulnerable areas and strong winds, NGCP continues to closely monitor the impact of these to the grid operations.

Ms. Carolino reiterates that NGCP assures the public of its commitment to the Grid’s stability, readiness and quick response in the face of potential disruptions due to natural calamities.
