The public is warned against unauthorized use, sale or manufacture of Philippine National Police (PNP) uniforms, insignias, and other accesssories through City Ordinance No. 07, series of 2024.
The Balanga City ordinance passed by the Sangguniang Panlungsod on March 12, 2024 penalizes anyone or any entity using or distributing police uniforms and insignias not prescribed by the PNP Directorate for Research and Development under DRD Standard Operating Procedure No. 2020-001.
The said ordinance was enacted by the city council to eradicate the proliferation of unauthorized PNP uniforms and the commission of illegal activities within Balanga City. Violator of said ordinance faces, first offense, a fine of P1,000; second offense, imprisonment for a period of 6 to 10 days or a fine of P3,000 or both at the discretion of the court; and third, imprisonment of 11 to 30 days or a fine of P5,000 or both at the discretion of the court.
