Thirty-seven women in Mariveles now have new opportunities to earn a living through digital work. These women, members of the Buklod ng Kababaihan organization recently received digital work materials as part of the Elevate AIDA program.
AboitizPower subsidiaries GNPower Mariveles Energy Center (GMEC) and GNPower Dinginin (GNPD) facilitated the program in partnership with Connected Women, a social impact organization. Each beneficiary underwent a 15-day training program in data annotation and received essential work equipment, including a laptop, headset, wired router, and pocket Wi-Fi device.
The ceremonial turnover event was held at Kamayen Restaurant in the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB) where the women were provided with the tools to start their digital careers.
The event was attended by Reputation and Stakeholder Management Manager Joseph Paolo Mendoza, local leaders and program advocates, including members of the Mariveles Tourism Council, and Buklod ng Kababaihan President officers. Mendoza said it is a priority for GMEC and GNPD to foster growth within the host community. Beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to GMEC and GNPD for the program.
